Welcome to Keep Covington/Newton Beautiful (KCNB)!

Keep Covington/Newton Beautiful (KCNB), an affiliate of Keep Georgia Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful, provides environmental education in our community.  KCNB works on various projects focusing on litter prevention, beautification, recycling, and water pollution prevention.  KCNB staff and volunteers visit schools with puppet shows and other educational programs, speak at club and organizational meetings, and participate in festivals and expos.  KCNB also sponsors cleanups, recycling events, and awareness contests throughout the year.  KCNB relies upon government and grant funding, private contributions, and volunteer participation.

OUR MISSION:  To challenge, motivate, and inspire everyone to take responsibility for a clean and beautiful community

Citizens can take trash and recycling to any Newton County Neighborhood Recycling Center.  City of Covington and City of Oxford residents have curbside trash and recycling pickup through their respective cities and may request bins by calling Covington City Hall at 770-385-2000 or Oxford City Hall at 770-786-7004.  Residents outside those city limits can take trash and recycling to centers free of charge or can contract with private garbage haulers for curbside service.  Please see list in box on left below.  KCNB does not provide residential recycling bins.

The GREAT American  Cleanup

lasts until the end of May!

Organize a group to clean up roadside trash, and KCNB will provide bags, gloves, and vests for volunteers. (A few t-shirts are still available for volunteers on a first-come, first-served basis.)

You or your group leader can email with the number of volunteers expected, date and place of cleanup.  KCNB will pack all of your supplies and leave them in the hallway outside the office for your convenient pickup any time between 8 and 5 Monday through Friday.

You can meet the group at your cleanup location, distribute supplies, pick up trash, and send a short report back to KCNB.

KCNB will include your results in our community's reports to Keep America Beautiful and will request pickup of any trash bags left along the roadway. Thank you for helping to keep our community free of litter!
